August 26, 2014 — You’ve heard about the problem of environmental crime, from poaching to murder. Individuals interested in becoming part of the solution have a unique opportunity in Michigan State University’s online Conservation Criminology graduate certificate program.
The program, which began in 2008, consists of three courses covering topics such as environmental risk perception, corporate environmental crime, and globalization. Participants learn to deconstruct environmental risks, apply theory to analyze risks, and use tools ranging from communication to enforcement to promote compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
