Bryan Christy is a lawyer turned author, journalist and public speaker with a passion for exposing wildlife crime. His reporting on the illegal wildlife trade in National Geographic and elsewhere has helped elevate the issue to global concern and led to the enactment of new conservation laws. His book, The Lizard King: The true crimes and passions of the world’s greatest reptile smugglers, launched Christy into the murky world of international wildlife crime syndicates. He is one of the preeminent investigative journalists in the world, was named National Geographic Explorer of the Year in 2014 and now heads up the magazine’s special investigations unit.
