June 11, 2015 — When you think of wildlife rangers crisscrossing remote landscapes to protect endangered animals, a vision of Africa or Southeast Asia likely comes to mind. But in the country of Oman on the Arabian Peninsula dedicated researchers such as Hadi Al Hikmani and colleagues with the Omani Office for Conservation of the Environment are working tirelessly to track and protect the critically endangered Arabian leopard — one of the rarest animals on the planet.
The documentary was directed by Ole Elfenkämper & Kathrin Seward and produced by Boekamp & Kriegsheim, a network of filmmakers based in Berlin, Germany. Funding was provided by the German Federal Foreign Office. The Mideast-based television series SciTech – Our World Tomorrow first aired this video.
