April 11, 2013 — As co-founder and executive director of 350.org, May Boeve not only plays a key role in shaping the global climate change conversation, she also provides a refreshing role model for young adults wondering if they really can make a difference. Boeve was an undergraduate at Middlebury College when she began working with author and activist Bill McKibben in 2007 to mobilize international action around reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Six years later, she’s more passionate than ever about the need for change, and savvier than ever about what it will take. Ensia caught up with Boeve when she was in town to meet with participants in the Boreas Leadership Program and members of MN350, which she calls “one of the strongest grassroots organizing groups on climate.”
