January 16, 2017 — What do respiratory allergies, coastal erosion and litter have in common? It all comes back to the personal, day-to-day, impacts of climate change on people and their communities, says the CEO of Greening Forward, a U.S. environmental nonprofit managed entirely by young people. Founded in 2008 by the then 12-year-old Charles Orgbon III, Greening Forward aims to offer guidance, resources, funds and forums for young people to lead environmental campaigns in their communities across the world. Orgbon, who recently returned from a Youth Summit in Chile and a research opportunity in the Arctic, discusses how the organization works to involve more people in the environmental movement and what the future holds for environmentalists, policy-makers and our climate.
